Chester-le-Street Centurions ESU is the Explorer Scout Unit which covers the whole of Chester-le-Street District. We run a variety of programmes for young people (male and female) aged 14-17 with different Sub-Units meeting on different nights of the week throughout the area.
Explorer Scouts is a very flexible section, designed to fit in with what you want out of Scouting. You can be a Young Leader, helping out with a younger section, and we can help you with any training or advice you may need and support you the whole way. Alternatively, you can join us and work towards your Duke of Edinburgh Award or arrange and take part in an overseas expedition for your Explorer Belt Award. On the other hand, you may just join us to have a bit of fun but rest assured whether you want to take part in some or all of the activities, our leaders are here to help you get the most out of your time with us.
Currently we have four sub-units up and running, meeting weekly at Waldridge, Great Lumley, and Burnmoor, and a young leader development unit running periodic workshops.
