Chester-le-Street minibuses
Chester-le-Street District operate two minibuses at 1st Burnmoor Scout Group.
Other Scout Groups can use our vehicles. We operate on a not-for-profit basis and the costs are shared among the users. Minibuses can only be used within the UK unless specifically agreed with us in advance.

£1.19 per mile including fuel. The minimum charge is £25 for each booking.
- £65 per day (with unlimited mileage) excluding fuel.

The booking group is responsible for any insurance excess in the event of any incident. (Fire £250, Theft £250, Accidental Damage £250, Windscreen Chip Repair £20 Vehicle glass replacement £100).

Groups hiring the bus must hold and display their own section 19 permit when using the minibus.

- For Scout Groups in Chester-le-Street District, to promote accessibility of trips and activities, a subsidised daily rate of £35 per day (with unlimited mileage) excluding fuel is available and the minimum charge for the mileage rate is not applied for part day/evening bookings.

Have at least 2 years’ driving experience

You either need to hold a current MIDAS minibus certificate (or similar passenger carrying safety certificate) or demonstrate suitable minibus driving experience (you can discuss this in advance with us).
