Pete Swinney

The Pete Swinney was a great day, Pete Swinney is a competition where Cub Scout Groups from the County have Event Pitches setup where Cub Packs from each Group go round and try and collect the most points they can. This is a great opportunity for Cubs to try out as many of the activities at Moorhouse as they can with a range of climbing / cave exploration / mind games / Archery / Team Building exercises / Soft Tomahawks. In all there were over 50 Activities the Cubs could try and put their hands to. We had our new young leader join us on our activity being the Soft Tomahawks! It was also great being setup next to Great Lumley Scouting Group who were hosting the Archery allowing the leaders to have a little competition while we waited for Cub Packs!

Burnmoor Cubs came in 3rd which was great to see Cubs from our District reach the top 3 teams and I thoroughly look forward to taking our cubs back next year and see if we can get in that top bracket as well! Although they didn’t come in the top 3 our Cub pack had a great day enjoying the activities and mingling with so many other Cubs from across the North East.
