New Sectional Assistant & Young Leader receive their Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award

Our new Sectional Assistant (previously a Young Leader), Kayden and our Young Leader, Huw, received their Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards from our District Lead Volunteer, Andrew Pine.

This is the second level in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme, after Bronze.  Kayden & Huw had to complete all 4 sections which involves Volunteering to help the community / environment, Physical to become fitter, developing new Skills and planning / training & completing a 3 day / 2 night Expedition carrying all their kit & food.

Congratulations to both of them on this great achievement.

   

The Duke of Edinburgh Awards schemes offers a life changing experience while having fun, making friends, improving their self-esteem & building confidence. Through this programme they gain essential skills & attributes for work & life such as resilience, problem-solving, team-working, communication & drive.

1st Waldridge Fell Scout Group is always happy to welcome Young Leaders who want to achieve their volunteering section of Bronze, Silver or Gold Award through helping at our Beaver, Cub or Scout Groups.
