District Scout Incident Challenge 2019

Posted on 25th April 2019 by Tony Brewis

Dear Scout

All the Scout Troops in Chester-le-Street are invited to take part in this year’s District Incident Challenge – a team incident hike where you will navigate across a night time course (without your leaders) to undertake a series of challenges.

Our theme for the event will be WILD FOREST and at each incident along the route, you will be able to earn clues to our final Forest Challenge! Each incident challenge will be a puzzle or task fit for Chief Scout Bear Grylls, which will test the skills and ingenuity of each Scout team!

For this year, we are camping Scout Adventures Hawkhirst, and the Incident Challenge will involve a journey through Kielder Forest and its surrounding areas in this area famous for its dark skies!

The winning Scout Team will win the Brian Slack Trophy, and that team will receive an outdoors themed prize.

Scouts will need to bring a packed lunch with them on the Saturday, then all meals are provided for them after that.

When:                    Saturday 21st September, 09.30am until Sunday 22nd September, 1pm

Where:                  Meet at Sterling Hall Scout Centre, Great Lumley, DH3 4JE

(for onward bus travel to the venue)

Cost:                     only £30 per Scout

Simply ask a parent/guardian to complete the attached form and get it to your Scout leader by Monday 10th September, or the meeting before, depending when your troop meets.
